Nashville will (also*) have to wait! Finally, the situation and TMI’s care about their members lead the World Headquarters to decide that the 2021 will be held – as for 2020 – online.
The good news is that 2020’s innovative experience made us grow and now we know and become experts in this: leading a global online international event, carriying thousands of virtual connections from all around the word.
Here are International President Richard Peck’s word, so that you can be completely aware of the TMI WHQ’s concern:
“Last year marked an exciting time in Toastmasters convention history—the first-ever online convention was born. You can even say it was one of the silver linings for our organization in a most unprecedented year. At a time when fellowship was most needed, the 2020 Virtual Convention brought together more than 59,000 registrants from 203 countries. Astonishingly, nearly 90% of last year’s online convention-goers were first-time attendees, extending the Toastmasters welcome mat to more people than we thought possible at a single event. To say that we were “on to something good” would be an understatement.
I am happy to announce the recent Board of Directors’ decision to conduct an online convention August 23-28, 2021; as a result, the previously announced in-person convention in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S. will not be taking place.
One of my goals as your International President during these times is to keep us all safe—while still being engaged in what we love most as Toastmasters. I am confident we can expand on the attendance, education, and excitement of last year’s convention and make this one even more spectacular.”
So here we are! Next Convention in August will be online. So prepare and be good team mates for each other. Your champions in your Clubs, Areas, Divisions, will need your support, feedback and coaching.
Enjoy the experience, and maybe you could be interested by a 2020 International Convention’s replay, as last year content is still valuable …and available online! —> just here.
Spread the word. Your feed back is welcome in comments.
