Start a Club

Step-by-Step Process

You may have many reasons for wanting to start a Toastmasters Club.
For example, if you’re interested in forming a Corporate Club, it might be because you’d like to give yourself and your colleagues the opportunity to build your communication and leadership skills together. If you’re interested in forming a Community Club, it might be because you want to help yourself and others develop self-confidence and leadership potential.

One of the most important things to consider before you start a Club is the Toastmasters club mission:

  • “Toastmasters International provides a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.”

The Club you form should embody this mission. Starting a Toastmasters Club is an important responsibility and undertaking. It’s your job to ensure that all members feel supported and that you have the resources to sustain and grow your membership. Providing a quality Club experience should be your primary goal.

How to Start:

  • STEP 1: Learn how Toastmasters works
  • STEP 2: Decide what kind of Club
                   you want to form
  • STEP 3: Request a Club Sponsor
  • STEP 4: Generate interest
  • STEP 5: Charter your Club
and set up a bank account
  • STEP 6: Celebrate!

New Club Fee: $125 USD (one-time fee for the Club Startup Kit).

New Member Fee: $20 USD per member (one-time fee for new Toastmasters members)

Membership Dues: $60 USD per member (covers 6 months of membership)

Chartering Requirement:

At least 20 members are required to charter a Club.

A Club with fewer than 20 members may be considered as a prospective Club (to be discussed).
